| What is the Winona County CARE Program? |
|
The Winona County Community Assessment and Reintegration Program (CARE Program) was developed by the Winona County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC). It is currently funded by the federal government through a Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Award administered by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety-Office of Justice Programs. For more information on the CJCC, visit www.winonacountycjcc.org.
Services CARE provides for its clients by connecting them to professional services as well as pre-existing resources in the community. We connect those who have few to no resources with the opportunities they need as they make a critical transition from confinement to community living. The safe and successful reintegrate of adult offenders relies on acknowledging the factors that prompts offenders to offend and if not addressed lead them to re-offend.
CARE is designed to tailor to the unique needs of our clients as they are identified. Our team of professionals assist the client to create a support plan that will enable them with the tools and resources they need to successfully reintegrate. Through CARE, clients will have the chance to take an active part in continuing their education as well as finding work, and addressing physical and mental health issues that will allow them to have the stability needed to stay away from unlawful behaviors.
