Volunteer with the CARE Program
Can You?

  • Let others know they are not alone?

The CARE Program is looking for responsible, motivated individuals to volunteer as mentors (Career Coaches) to CARE Program clients.  Studies have shown that ex-offenders who participate in an organized mentoring program reoffend at a significantly lower rate, feel more a part of the community and have a more positive outlook.  To be a mentor, a volunteer must (1) adhere to the policies and regulations of the CARE Program, Winona County Detention Center and Minnesota Department of Corrections;  (2) agree to a six month commitment to the CARE Program; and (3) attend orientation and training where other responsibilities will be detailed.
